Clarence Singleton & Friends

~THE MAN~

Clarence Singleton was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. In the early stages of his childhood, Clarence was introduced to the sound of music by his parents, Bishop Calvin and Rosemary Singleton. His musical journey began at the tender age of seven when his mother called him to the family organ and began to teach him the C major scale. Recognizing Singleton’s innate ability, his father, who is also a skilled musician and singer, began to teach him basic chord progressions.

Daily practice and chord experimentation began developing his musical ear and by age nine, he was playing at his father’s church, Victory Revival Temple. It was there that his knowledge of music began to increase with spontaneous songs sprung in devotional service and the study of several influences such as Pastor John P. Kee and Pastor Hezekiah Walker.

For the next 5 years, every Saturday was spent under the tutelage of his mentor, Carlton Pope who taught him the theory of music, transitioning this gifted child into an extraordinary minstrel. Through his mentorship, Singleton was also exposed to more seasoned choirs, singers, and musicians throughout the New Jersey tri-state area.  This experience merged the skillful musicianship into writing, ministry, and production by age 14.

There is no question that God has indeed anointed and gifted Singleton as a musician, songwriter, arranger, and producer. Singleton describes his passion, love, and drive for music as a journey… to walk-in and fulfill God’s call on life and to bring hope, joy, peace, love, and the power of Jesus Christ to the world through his music.

~THE STORY~

In 1999, Singleton produced his first demo. In 2000, he recorded his first song with the legendary Edwin Hawkins Music and Arts Mass Choir and has been moving forward ever since.

You’ve heard Singleton’s writing or accompaniment with artists such as Trin-i-tee 5:7, Marvin Sapp, Hezekiah Walker, Richard Smallwood, (BET Sunday’s Best) Shari Addison, Natalie Wilson & SOP Chorale, and more.

The early experience of trials and broken promises in the industry developed a backbone of maturity to press through opposition with eager tenacity. A perfectionist in his craft, his never-ending work ethic and focus are evidence of longevity and endurance in an often temporal industry.

His demand amongst established artists nationwide has solidified his credibility and Singleton’s refusal to stop! Now 29 years old, he has proven that he’ll be around for some time to come!

Thanks for this. I feel as if I’m on a spiritual journey and looking for answers right now.

  4. You actually make it appear so easy with your presentation however I find this matter to be really something which I believe I’d by no means understand. It kind of feels too complex and extremely broad for me. I’m looking ahead to your subsequent put up, I will try to get the hang of it!
